As I am one of the top procrastinators in the universe, this is only the second entry to the blog in over a year. However, seeing as my extra curricular kitchen activity, I thought this would be a good way to communicate upcoming events and share my at-home kitchen antics.
I've been working with the Rook and after the success of the last pop up kitchen, we're planning another at the end of this month! Immediately following this at Bobby's Place there will be another pop up event featuring a small menu of a few different types of tacos, corn tortilla per usual.
My goal here is that eventually I can move to doing soley catering jazz, pop ups, and classes and further down the road move to a legit brick and mortar location. I know, I'm hitting the dream pipe rather hard, but smoke em if ya got em.
So, moral of the story here, is that this blog is the brand new baby phoenix of the blog that I had been writing lightyears ago, back when I was young and wet behind the ears and had very little of interest that I was cooking or doing at all for that matter. (if you really want to ogle at it, Poor Pajarita Cocina) I want to teach from basic to tech cooking exploring a variety of familiar and exotic dishes, as well as teaching about the different ingredients many may not have experience with.
If this sounds like some bullshit you may be interested in reading, hook a sister up and follow! And if you really want to hook a sister up, I started up a Patreon so that if you are so inclined and would like to contribute to my grocery funds, gimme da cheddah !

under construction
It's hilarious, ironic actually, that now, at 28 years old I decide I want a domain. When I was 12 or 13 and made crappy Geocities and Angelfire websites with (what I thought was) my proficient knowledge of HTML, I never thought I would be wading through the muck of constructing a coherent and navegable website using builders.
So alas, here it is. And it seemed fitting that there be a blog to go with it as well, a space where I could blather about what I was working on... or pretending to work on. Seems like it will keep me more accountable instead of my racoon-like attention quickly shifting to the next shiny object. I sometimes really really admire DaVinci. I want to be a renaissance person to and do EVERYTHING but oftentimes it's difficult to stay focused on one thing long enough to acquire proficiency. I guess the only thing I've ever done properly like that is cooking. But I digress...
Today my every-so-sweet boyfriend installed Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop for me. Sometimes I'm computer illiterate. Once we move (tomorrow! yikes!) from NYC to ERI I'll be able to get set up and start working on some things. Unrelated to this, I bought a hula hoop because I got sucked into watching hours of LED hooping videos on youtube, and now that I'll be residing back at the family hobbit hole, there will be much more space for activities like this. Again, must keep myself accountable!
In short, I hope the little tidbits I'll be posting will be as entertaining for you as they are entertaining for me to stretch my creative writing muscles (that have been so unused since college). Thanks for reading, and look forward to your comments and such!
